A man has been charged with seriously injuring a police community support officer by hitting him with a VW Polo on Chesfield Road after an attempted break-in on February 4.
Sean McPherson, 22, of Shepley Court, Streatham, will be charged with seriously injuring PCSO Oliver Barrett and attempting to break-in to a home in Burton Road, Kingston, when he appears at Kingston Crown Court on April 7.
A co-defendant Scott Eden, 24, of Tadworth, will face a single charge of attempted break-in.
PCSO Barrett was part of the Canbury ward team working with residents association Brag, often advising them of burglaries and break-ins.
Bot men were granted bail after a hearing at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 24.
