A pensioner who used a fake blue badge to park in Kingston has been ordered to pay more than £300.

William Millar, 77, bought the photocopied parking permit for £70 at barbecue in Ireland two years ago.

He was caught after parking his BMW in a loading bay in Fife Road in Kingston last year.

It later transpired the badge had belonged to a woman in Northern Ireland which had been reported lost in 2008 and expired in 2010.

Millar, of Udney Park Road, Teddington, was fined £110, ordered to pay £200 in costs and a £20 victim surcharge at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court this week.
