M25 drivers are being warned of potential delays when a large, slow-moving vehicle travels through Surrey this weekend.

The vehicle carrying a large transformer will leave the Clacket Lane services at 8am on Sunday, March 16, and continue on the M25 to junction 10 where the motorway meets the A3, before finishing its journey at New Cross substation in Peckham.

The vehicle will be more than 4.5m wide, meaning it will travel across two lanes and will be restricted to 12mph.

Police will escort the vehicle throughout its journey and traffic will be stopped temporarily while crossing bridges.

Road users are being advised by the Highways Agency to plan their journeys accordingly and to leave extra time to travel if using the same route as the large vehicles.
