Barclays’ staff swapped computers for tills last week and helped to raise more than £6,000 for Princess Alice Hospice.

As part of the donation challenge, staff members from the bank took over four of the Esher hospice’s shops in Kingston and Staines on Wednesday, February 54 to sell items they had donated.

The four stores made £3,000 on the day, with Barclay’s matching the funds as part of its community investment programme, bringing the total amount raised to £6,000.

Phil Seal, retail director at Princess Alice Hospice, said: “We are very grateful to Barclays for their efforts into making this event such a great success and for raising such a great amount for Princess Alice Hospice.

“We hope this encourages other companies to participate in similar events in the future.”
