Police have arrested a man this morning after a PCSO was hit by a car in Kingston yesterday.

At about 5.15pm hours on Tuesday, February 4, the male PCSO was injured while trying to detain two suspected burglars in a stationary black VW Polo in Chesfield Road, Kingston.

As the vehicle moved forward it collided with the officer.

The car was then driven at slow speed for approximately 100 yards while the PCSO was on the bonnet.

He remained on the bonnet of the car before rolling off the vehicle in nearby Staunton Road. The car was driven away at speed.

The police community support officer (PCSO) has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police said the car contained two white males and it was recovered shortly after the incident.

A man was arrested this morning on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and has been taken to a south London Police Station.

Detectives from Kingston are investigating and have asked for anyone with information to call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
