An 80-year-old woman has been taken to hospital with cuts and bruises after colliding with a car in Kingston town centre this morning.

The accident happened just before noon, opposite Fairfield bus garage in Fairfield North.

A police spokesman said an 80-year-old pedestrian was taken to Kingston Hospital with non-threatening and non-life changing injuries.

No arrests were made.

Really? I would have expected that the car - driven by a human - collided with the 80 year-old pedestrian. That's usually what happens. Was the 80 year-old pedestrian careering out of control? Comet: Don't blame the victim, it's really not kind.
