Two of the UK’s biggest indie bands will be playing back to back gigs on one incredible night of music in Kingston next week.

Crouch End genre-hoppers Bombay Bicycle Club and north east rockers Maximo Park will both be coming to town on Thursday, January 30, for a double-header of album launch shows.

Bombay Bicycle Club will be playing a 14-plus gig at The Hippodrome in St James Road, ahead of the release of fourth studio album So Long, See You Tomorrow.

Doors open at 6.30pm and the gig is scheduled to finish at 9pm sharp – leaving plenty of time for fans to head to McClusky’s in Thames Street for Maximo Park.

The Geordie band will make their New Slang debut with a show in support of their fifth album Too Much Information.

Maximo Park will also be playing Kingston on the same night, at McClusky's in Thames Street

Both gigs have been organised by Banquet Records, in Eden Street, representing yet another huge coup for the independent music retailer following appearances by the likes of Liam Gallagher and Beady Eye.

Banquet manager Jon Tolley said: “We're excited to welcome back the fantastic Bombay Bicycle Club for an album release show at The Hippodrome in Kingston.

“Since they last played in town at New Slang they've exploded into one of the most widely acclaimed British indie bands and it's no surprise.

“Their new album has already received a ton of amazing reviews and we can't wait to hear the new songs live.”

“We're also excited that Maximo Park are making their Kingston debut to launch their new album.

“Too Much Information is their fifth album and one that again shows why they've been indie-rock mainstayers of the last decade.”
