Artists spent five days in pre-school nurseries trying to find what children like playing with before launching an interactive exhibition at Kingston Museum.

Art + Play has been created by eight artists who have all created pieces designed to engage with pre-school age children.

Based on the theme of creative exploration of materials, the show encourages visitors to touch and play with the exhibitions.

Each artist spent five days working with children in pre-school nurseries and clubs, in order to better understand how the toddlers think, play, explore and create.

The touring show has been produced by Lincolnshire-based 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, with funding from the National Lottery and the Arts Council.

The participating artists are Linda Arkley, Lucy Fergus, Alex Hallowes and Pete Rogers, Kate Sully, Jason Taylor and Kathryn and Rachel Welford.

It opens at Kingston Museum in Wheatfield Way on Friday, January 17, until Tuesday, March 18.
