A man was hospitalised after his car came off the A3 and crashed into a wall in New Malden this morning.

Paramedics, police and firefighters were all called to Woodfield Gardens, off the A3 Malden Way, just before 7am after a silver Vauxhall Astra came off the road and crashed into a garden wall.

The wall was destroyed in the accident.

The driver, a 21 year old man, was already out of the car by the time emergency services arrived.

He was not seriously injured, but was treated for a leg injury before being taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting as a precaution.
