A man who took to the streets of Kingston with billboards in search of love landed a date after bracing the wind and rain outside the Bentall Centre.

Good-looking Gerald Abrahams, 39, of Roebuck Road, Chessington, caught the public imagination when he visited London landmarks armed with a placard reading “Hot brunette wanted for 2014” and “Must like dogs and landscapers”.

Twitter dubbed him #waterlooromeo. He hit Kingston on Tuesday. The Evening Standard reported he had been inundated with offers and a date for Saturday night.

The landscaper who previously dabbled in online dating but has reportedly ruled out redheads and blondes also took his signs up to Piccadilly Circus and Waterloo this week.

Hannah B tweeted: “Spotted the WaterlooRomeo in Kingston today…Seems like a nice smiley guy. “Brave to walk around with a placard… Hope he finds his Miss Right.”

Thomy Lawson tweeted: “To the man in Kingston with the sign saying "hot brunette wanted"... RT for my mum's number”

He did not reply to emails from the Surrey Comet but told the Standard: “You’ve gotta put yourself out there. Life’s too short. I better bloody end up with someone after this.”

To contact Gerald, if it’s not too late, email
