A Kingston teenager is soon jetting off to Ghana to volunteer on a building project for four weeks, writes Charlotte Tobitt.
Adam Athas, 17, of Coombe Park, will help construct and renovate structures while living with a host family.
Adam said: “This is a big challenge for me personally. I really hope my trip is a big success.”
Peter Slowe, Director of Projects Abroad, the organisation running the trip, said: “Ghana destination are looking forward to meeting him – and they definitely want him to bring some pictures of Surrey with him.”
The project aims to improve the quality of houses and schools in the Akuapem Hills.
