Flooding and strong winds are expected this weekend and the Environment Agency has warned people to take precautions.

Anyone who lives in an area susceptible to flooding has been encouraged to think of things they can do to prevent damage to their property with heavy and sustained rain and winds forecast in the south-east this weekend.

David Bedlington, regional flood and coastal risk manager for the Environment Agency, said: "With more unsettled weather forecast for the South East, following recent heavy rainfall, there could be a lot of water in low-lying lands and on roads.

"Those who live in an area vulnerable to flooding should think about the precautions they can take to limit the damage a flood can cause to themselves and their property.
