A terrified expectant mother and her toddler were held at knife point after a man jumped into their car.

The frightening incident happened on Tuesday, December 17, at the Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Fields in Motspur Park.

The victim of Raynes Park, was getting out of her car when the man unexpectedly got into the passenger seat and brandished a knife at her two year old son who was still strapped in the back seat.

The terrified mum, who is six months pregnant, begged the man to let her get her son out of the car but he demanded she get back in and said "everything would be ok" if she did.

She said: "I saw an Asian man approaching me but he didn’t threaten me because I thought he was in charge of the parking area.

"I thought he was going to tell me to move, that’s why I didn’t feel threatened.

"But when he went into the car in my passenger chair I got scared.

"As soon as he sat in the car he pointed the knife at my son.

"Obviously I was really terrified and my first reaction was trying to get my son out of the car.

"The only thing on my mind was to reach my baby.

"I moved to get my son and I saw the knife point to me.

"He was telling me I had to get in the car."

Fortunately at that point a woman entered the car park and the knife man fled the scene driving off in a blue hatchback toward Marina Avenue.

He was described as Asian and aged between 25 and 35 years old.

The victim added: "Obviously I reported it to the police.

"It’s important that we let people know about this, whatever his intentions were.

"I really want to warn other mothers as he is clearly targeting woman and children."
