Kingston welcomed back indie giants the Vaccines for a sell-out show at The Peel on Wednesday night.

And now the band who supported the London quartet during their summer show at the O2 arena will be coming to town in the new year for their own gig.

Psychedelic rockers Toy will play an intimate acoustic gig at Banquet Records on Tuesday, January 7.

The band formed in 2010, out of the ashes of rock group Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, with singer and guitarist Tom Dougall, bassist Maxim Barron and guitarist Dominic O’Dair joining forces with drummer Charlie Savage and keyboardist Alejandra Diez.

The five-piece released their debut album Toy in 2012, and have been praised by the likes of The Horrors, who are friends of the group.

Now they are back with new album Join The Dots, released this week, and will be showcasing some new tracks alongside some old favourites for the first Banquet instore of 2014.

Banquet Records manager Jon Tolley said: "We’ve been watching Toy from a distance over the last couple of years. "It's driving retro garage rock digging deep in a psych-rock world rarely touched by today’s leading indie lights.

"This is the first Kingston show from the band, and will be the last chance to see them in an intimate setting such as a record shop ahead of their next London outing, headlining Shepherds Bush Empire."
