Firefighters were called to flooding in a bungalow after a woman tried to move her washing machine yesterday.
Firefighters were called to a 54-year-old woman’s flooded home in Clare Crescent, Leatherhead, just before noon.
A Leatherhead fire station spokesman said they mopped up the water, which was a few inches deep, and ripped-up part of the carpet.
He said: "She had been trying to pull the washing machine out and the pipe broke. Water was going into the kitchen and the living room.
"We isolated the electrical supply to make everything safe."
