Social workers accused of changing records days after the murder of Filipino carer Charito Cruz have been referred to their professional body.
Anti-abuse campaigner Davina James-Hanman, is carrying out an independent investigation into the claims, which also allege two warnings by the NSPCC about the family’s safety were ignored, but it could take months to complete.
The claims were made in a BBC interview earlier this year by Olivia Butler, a former interim head of children’s services.
She said she recommended disciplinary action in 2011 after seeing the findings of an internal report commissioned by her, but said this was ignored by the council.
A spokeswoman for the Health and Care Professions Council said: "We are aware of concerns about social workers at Kingston Council.
"We are looking into what action, if any we need to take."
