The Fonz himself has visited Kingston to talk to students about the importance of education.

Henry Winkler, known to millions as Arther Fonzarelli in 70s US sitcom Happy Days, visited Kingston Grammar School last week to talk about his career as both an actor and writer, and his struggles with dyslexia.

The New York-born star was there as part of the My Way! campaign organised by children's newspaper First News, which supports children who find learning difficult.

Year seven students were joined by year six pupils from St Lawrence’s Primary School in East Molesey, as Mr Winkler talked about growing up with dyslexia.

He then signed copies of his children's books for the students.

KGS year seven pupil Euan Tasker-Macleod, who was at the talk, said: "Some of the messages he delivered were very important, most of them about learning at different rates.

"Also, always preserving your dreams, especially since he was dyslexic himself and is now an actor and a writer.

"He was also a very genuinely nice and funny man and made you feel positive about yourself."

Headteacher Sarah Fletcher said: "We were delighted to welcome Henry Winkler to KGS.

"You could have heard a pin drop when he was talking.

"He really inspired his audience and the whole event was enjoyed by staff and pupils alike.

"I’m sure the visit will be remembered for a long time to come."
