Aspring spy novelist Jay Bartram with teacher Sue Khullar
An aspiring young author marked World Book Day in style by winning a rucksack full of books.
Jay Bartram, 10, from Fern Hill Primary School in Kingston, won by posing a question to children’s authors Tom Banks and Elen Caldecott.
He asked them: “Do you have a hat with a lightbulb in it, and if so, does it light up when you get an idea?”
Jay said he enjoys writing: “I have written a spy story because I enjoy reading the Alex Rider and young Bond series.
“I have also started writing another one which is about a blob called Bob.”
Jay’s teacher Sue Khullar said: “It has certainly sparked off great things in him.
"It seemed to capture him when he got that big pile of books.”
