6:00pm Thursday 14th March 2013 in News By Hardeep Matharu
Surrey Police are appealing for information about an incident in which two muggers battered a man round the head in Miles Road, Epsom
Shaven-headed muggers battered a man around the head with a blunt object yesterday in what is described by police as an "appalling attack".
The man was walking along Miles Road, Epsom, on March 13, at 12.15am when he was approached by two black men wearing dark hooded tops and trousers.
They demanded money from him before attacking him.
He suffered head and facial injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, before being taken to hospital.
The men who attacked him are black, around 6ft 2in and both had shaven heads.
Detective Constable Andy Cooper, of Epsom CID, said: "I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in this area around the time of the incident to contact officers with information.
"This was an appalling attack and we need to establish the full circumstances surrounding it so that we can find the people responsible."
Anyone with information should call the police on 101 quoting reference EP/13/1098 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
