Investigation into lead theft from Surbiton bank

A suspected lead thief is being hunted by police in Surbiton.

Police are conducting an investigation at HSBC in Victoria Road following reports of a man stealing lead from the roof.

No one has been arrested.

Sad state of affairs that the economy has been allowed to run so far out of control that it is actually worth people's while getting up onto a high roof to steal lead.

Almost as bad is the fact that sveral blocks of flats in the Surbiton area have begun to be defaced by large signs proclaiming 'no lead flashing has been used at this property'.

It is a strange world we live in.
