Hundreds gather for horse rangers' celebration from Bushy Park to Hampton Court Palace

A procession of more than 200 children and 10 horses paraded to Hampton Court Palace.
The Horse Rangers’ Association’s annual foundation celebration march took place to remember the founder of the group, Raymond Gordon, who started the organisation nearly 60 years ago.
The troop was led by 2nd Lieutenant Colyn Thomson of Squadron 1 and included a guest band from the 1st Hook Scout and Guides from Surbiton and the charity’s mascot, a Shetland pony called Prince Cameo.
The spectacle on Saturday, March 2, took a new route from the group’s headquarters at the Royal Mews, in Bushy Park, to the palace where they met Richmond’s mayor.
Mr Gordon had a vision to enable young people, who would not otherwise have the opportunity, to learn to look after and ride horses.
His legacy lives on today, as more than 400 people attend each week, including those with special needs.
