A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after crashing on the A3 this morning.

Two ambulance crews and a single responder were called to the scene, at Robin Hood Gate junction just after 8am this morning after the crash on the northbound side of the A3.

A 49-year-old man had suffered injuries to his right arm and shoulder and was stabilised at the scene before being taken to St George’s Hospital.

Police closed a lane until just before 9am to clear the crash site.

The accident caused major tailbacks on the A3, with delays from West Hill in Putney, New Malden, Tolworth, Chessington and Claygate.

around 1230 yesterday the radio was reporting 2 deaths on A3--is this the same event?
