Cyclist hospitalised after Clarence Street, Kingston, accident

A cyclist and a car were involved in a crash this morning in Kingston town centre.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to Kingston Hospital, after the accident in Clarence Street just after 8am.

A cycle responder and an ambulance crew were sent to the accident, a London Ambulance spokeswoman said.

A witness said the car’s back window was "completely smashed".

I hope the cyclist makes a speedy recovery.

Interesting priorities the Comet has in that headline.

When will reporters realise there almost no real 'accidents' on the road? Collisions are most often due to negligence or wilful law-breaking.

Accidents are negligence - nobody does it on purpose. No idea who was to blame in this instance.

Accidents are NOT the result of negligence. If you don't indicate when you pull out of a junction it's because you are negligent. If there is a collision as a result it's because of negligence.
