Road closed for emergency sewer works in Kingston

Traffic is being diverted through the centre of Kingston today as work is carried out to fix an "emergency critical sewer failure".

Kingsgate Road is closed while Thames Water mends the broken sewer.

Cars are currently being diverted along Seven Kings Way and Sury Basin.

It is not yet known how long the road will be closed for.

It is the second time in a month Thames Water has been called to fix a broken sewer in Kingston, after Eden Street was closed for seven days when one collapsed beneath the road.
