Zavon Hines insists that City have no fears about the goals drying up.

The Bantams will look to get back to winning ways at Home Park tonight after back-to-back draws.

They had enough scoring chances to have picked up maximum points against Port Vale and Aldershot but the only goal came from Alan Connell’s last-gasp penalty on Saturday.

Winger Hines said: “It is frustrating when you’re making chances and not taking them. Goals matter, obviously, and if we’re not scoring then we’re not moving up the league.

“But I don’t think anyone is doubting themselves that we can’t score goals – we know that’s not the case.

“Defensively we are playing very well and have kept two clean sheets in the last two away games. All we’ve got to do is concentrate on what we’re doing going forward and hopefully the goals will come.”

Hines himself is playing with confidence since being restored to the side after Wembley. It was his run in the final minute of stoppage time that won the spot-kick against the Shots.

He added: “The gaffer gave me a little bit of confidence after the Dagenham game by saying how well I’ve done and I’ve taken it on from there. I feel good and sharp and up for the game.

“I’m quite happy with how I’m playing at the moment and if I can keep that up, it will be a bonus for the team. There’s a lot to my game that I haven’t really shown yet.”

Hines is also proving a willing worker defensively and is happy to track back to help out the back four when needed.

“This is what the gaffer wants. He wants his wingers to help the full backs. Modern-day wingers all like to stay up front but I think I’m different to most.

“If I’m helping the team by not letting an opponent get a strike on goal then I’ll happily do that.”
