An aspiring young singer has made it through to the regional finals of a national singing competition.

Amber Thomas, 11, from Epsom Road, Epsom, will perform live in Camden on April 21 in Teenstar, a new contest for children and teenagers.

Her mother, Paula-Lee, said: “It’s absolutely tremendous. She’s been working really, really hard.”

Amber attends Rosebery School and sings for its choir the Rosebery Singers.

She is currently rehearsing for a children’s show A Real Witch at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom and has lessons with voice coach Roz McLeod.
