A man was arrested after a police car chase which started in Leatherhead and damaged two police vehicles.
A second man who escaped and remains at large is thought to be covered in mud after fleeing through fields in Elmbridge.
Police started chasing the car being driven in ‘suspicious circumstances’ along Kingston Road on Sunday at 5.45pm.
The chase continued up Hook Road before the car was stopped on the Kingston By-Pass between Claygate and Hinchley Wood.
Two police vehicles were damaged while bringing the black Vauxhall Astra to a standstill.
A man in his 20s remained in police custody while officers searched the area for another man in his 20s yesterday evening.
