Robbers used a fake firearm to rob Carphone Warehouse this morning.

A police car which smashed into a fence in Villiers Road earlier today was involved, a police spokesman said, although he could not say if it was pursuing the robbers.

The robbery took place at about 11.20am at Carphone Warehouse in London Road, Norbiton, and involved three men.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said two men had been arrested, one on suspicion of possessing of an imitation firearm.

The shop was closed this afternoon.

Police also raided a home on the Cambridge Estate this afternoon although it is unclear whether it is connected to the robbery.
