A man is in a serious condition after being found with a suspected head injury by a passerby in Claygate.

South East Coast Ambulance was called to Hare Lane shortly after 6.45pm on Thursday, to reports of a man in his 40s in need of medical attention. It was reported that he was unconscious.

A spokesman for South East Ambulance Service said: “One ambulance initially attended the scene and was backed up by further ambulances.

“The patient was not in a good way and was taken as a priority to St George’s Hospital, Tooting as he required further treatment. At the time, the patient was in a serious condition.”

Surrey Police have not yet commented.
