When I started researching all the products I needed for my first child, I seriously thought I needed a degree, but now another is on the way, a PhD is definitely a prerequisite.

The problem with having two close together is that you have to look for new bits that cater for two.

For instance, which double buggy is the best? This issue was making me lose sleep.

Should we go for a side-by-side model? Will it fit into shops or even annoy people, as I learn to manoeuvre the oversized contraption?

What about a buggy where one child is on top of the other? I just was not sure my son would enjoy seeing the world with an obscure view.

I have been on all websites looking at the pros and cons of them all, been to baby shows to test drive them and even spoken to sales assistants who said the person who comes up with the perfect double buggy is going to be very rich.

Apart from that it has been fun going into the attic and pulling out all the bits to reassemble for baby Underwood number two.

Crib is ready, newborn clothes rewashed, baby gym sorted and hospital bags soon to be packed.

It was emotional going through everything and I have kept a couple of outfits and toys aside for my son’s keepsake box.

I think he will love looking through it when he is older.

It also reminded me of the apprehension and fear I had knowing my life would change forever having a child and those feelings have not changed – I am going to have to nurture two little people now.

But just like last time, I am going to take the bull by the horns and get on with it, I am ready.
