This week has been a busy one with lots of filming for my new programme, Family Cooking Showdown and on top of that, I’ve been having the weirdest dreams. Usually, when I’ve been on the go of a day and finally get to the point where I can hit the sack, I can never for the life of me remember what runs through my head during the night. When I was young, there used to be a dream book in the house and whenever I could recollect the succession of images, emotions and stories that would go running through my head, I would often flick through the book to find out some sort of meaning or interpretation which would tell me that all would all my teeth fall out which would then make me a nervous wreck for the rest of that week. I soon realised that trying to find a deeper meaning of some random encounter in my head was not at all necessary or productive!

Well this week, my dreams have been vivid and intense. I’m not sure whether it’s due to the intensely hot nights caused by the heatwave that have made me go a little bit crazy, who knows? But when I have finally risen from my slumber, it feels like my mind has had an extra-long session in the gym. My dreams have been so strange - I’ve been remembering friends I’ve met years ago, relived experiences from my childhood and had bizarre conversations with random people. It’s been good in one sense as it’s made me message a few people and reminisce about some fun times. Thankfully I haven’t been tempted to go on-line and start reading bizarre meanings into any of the dreams because I’ve come to believe that no-one will ever be able to crack the dream-code and I don’t need to be stressed. Here’s hoping I’ll get some peaceful sleeps once again.
