So this week we have been frantically getting ready for Christmas before the madness of the festive season kicks in.

Now you’re probably huffing and puffing at my organisational skills, but you have to remember, this is the first Christmas in two years that I haven’t been pregnant.

It feels a bit strange to be honest, but nice to have my body back and be able to run around getting things done, rather than waddle like a duck.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a fun time being an expectant mother, but I had to be super organised and was nesting at the same time. It was all go and nothing has changed this year.

So presents for the little ones have been purchased and I am so excited. Michael and I have always loved this time of year, but I think there is something extra special about it when you have children.

Let’s face it, my son may not understand what it’s all about just yet, but on Christmas day he’ll be getting over excited, eating too much food and pretty much doing everything his dad does.

However, when he opens his gifts this year hopefully he’ll play with them and not just the wrapping paper.

Last year all he did was scrunch it up and go crazy. It was hilarious.

Apart from that, I can report the washing machine did in fact conk out and it’s been a nightmare trying to get it fixed.

Luckily for us, our neighbour is amazing and has washed our clothes.

Phew. The usual routine of cleaning, picking up toys and playing hide and seek continues – and that’s only looking after my husband.

Bring on the mulled wine, blue cheese and paté this year, I deserve it.
