VOLLEYBALL: Now in its fifth week, the Richmond Volleyball Summer League, held on Tuesday evenings at Old Deer Park, is proving popular, with more than 60 registered adult and junior players. Currently sitting at the top of the table is Andreas Koelblin, with 30 points, ahead of Marek Sokolowski, with 28 points, while the top female player is Jelena Leskovica, with 20 points. The league still has four weeks to go and players who wish to enter may still do so at this late stage. To enter, just turn up at Old Deer Park on a Tuesday. The first round of matches start at 6.30pm, with the second round at 7.30pm.

BOWLS: Priory Park have had plenty to celebrate this week, with several fine performances. In their mixed pairs preliminary rounds, the pairings of Gay Lyle and Tom Cunningham, and Liz Grove and Phil Hales qualified for next month's final. David Charleston reached the semi-finals of the London Area Civil Service singles by beating Tony Lea. After losing to North Sheen in their first match, Priory Park ladies have recorded home and away victories over Parsons Green, Mid-Surrey and Winnington.

FOOTBALL: Weirside Rangers, newly promoted to Senior Division One of the Southern Amateur League, require players for the coming season. BOWLS: North Sheen's Ricky Lidington, Ian Acus and Darren King have reached the final of Surrey's county competition after beating South London's Sean O'Connell, Mick Ryan and John Graham 20-15 in last Thursday's semi-final in Croydon.
