Hampton & Richmond are to re-introduce a reserve team for the 2008-09 season.

The new second string will compete in the Suburban League North Division in the forthcoming season, after Beavers manager Alan Devonshire requested that a team be formed.

The reserves will play on Saturday afternoons when the first team are away and midweek (Tuesdays or Wednesdays, to be decided).

The inclusion of a reserve side will provide Devonshire with the opportunity to bring players back from injury or suspension and also provide a bridge for the U18s side to make the step up to first team football.

Meanwhile, the Beavers have signed an agreement with kit manufacturers Vandanel to supply all the club's kit for the next three years.

Playing strip will be provided for the first team, reserves, U18s and girls' team, as well as training wear, while Vandanel will also supply all the club's replica and leisure wear requirements, which will be for sale through the club shop.

Hampton's first choice kit is of a unique design, using the club's traditional colours of red and blue, while the change kit will be sky blue.

Vandanel's business development manager Jerry Carter, said: "Vandanel is delighted to be associated with HRBFC and hope to see their recent success continue while in Vandanel kit. We look forward to building and developing our relationship over the coming seasons."

More activity off the field has seen the club appoint another director.

Nick Lyons, who is involved with The Times newspaper, joined the board recently to bring the number of directors up to five.

Meanwhile, the club's supporters trust represented the club at the 30th Hampton Carnival on Saturday.

A group of supporters took part in the procession, handing out information on the club while at the fair on Nursery Green.
