The first candidate to be fired from the current series of The Apprentice has been crushed by a wall and will not be able to walk properly until October, according to reports.

Trainee lawyer Nicholas De Lacy-Brown, from Clapham South, was hurt after a lorry reversed into a wall, making it fall on top of him.

It is believed that the 24-year-old had several operations to repair his leg, which was badly crushed in the incident, which happened near a building site. Reports say he has been told he will be unable to walk without crutches until October.

Television crews, who were filming an ITV documentary in the area, apparently caught the scene on camera and helped Mr De Lacy-Brown.

His friend told the Daily Mail: "He was trapped for several agonising minutes and screaming in pain.

"Things really took a surreal turn when the film crew also jumped out of the ambulance with the paramedics."

Mr De Lacy-Brown was the first person to be kicked off the popular series by Sir Alan Sugar after he incorrectly priced seafood on a fish stall in Islington.
