Police are appealing for help after two school boys were mugged on their way home in Addlestone and Weybridge.

Detective Constable Simon Egan said the two Heathside School boys were walking home separately when they were mugged on April 3.

At 3.15pm, the first victim, aged 14, was walking home from school through the wooded area near Heath Road towards Brooklands College with two friends when they were approached by two Asian men.

The first man ask which of the boys had mugged his brother before he took the victim's backpack, grabbed his shirt and stole a Sony Ericsson mobile phone from his blazer pocket.

The suspects than ran off towards Weybridge train station.

The first suspect is described as an Asian man, 18 years old, slim build, 5ft 11in tall, with a south London accent, wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and a cap underneath and blue jeans.

The second suspect is described as an Asian man, slim build, 6ft, 18 years old, wearing a black hooded top and dark blue jeans.

Less than an hour later, the second schoolboy, a 15-year-old from Addlestone was walking home from school through Weybridge Business Park on Addlestone Road, when he walked past a group of five boys and two girls.

The group of teenagers were sitting on the pavement as the victim walked past.

The first youth called the victim over and asked him for a cigarette lighter and then asked if the victim had a phone they could use.

The victim said that he had to get home and told them that he was sure that they had a phone between them that they could use.

The five youths then followed the victim as he walked off.

Frightened of being attacked, the victim gave his Sony Ericsson mobile to one of the suspects.

The suspect asked how much the phone was worth and then threw it to another in the group before all five walked off towards the main road.

The first suspect is described as a mixed race male, 15 to 16 years old, wearing a pink earring, black hat, black trousers and a hooded top worn up over his hat, believed to be called Dionne.

The second is described as a white male, 15 to 16 years old, wearing a hat, a hoodie, a tracksuit and Nike trainers.

The third suspect is described as a white male, 15 to 16 years-old, 5ft 8in tall, medium build, blonde hair gelled over his eyes and wearing a zip-up hoodie.

The fourth suspect is described as a white male, 15 to 16 years old, 5ft 4in tall, blonde hair, slight frame and pale skin. He was wearing a hoodie with the hood up with a Lonsdale logo on it, white trainers and tracksuit trousers.

The fifth suspect is described as a white male, 17 years old, 5ft 11in to 6ft tall and a big build. He was wearing jogging bottoms.

D Con Simon Egan said: "We clearly need to find the people responsible for these robberies. We are treating them as linked at this time, due to the proximity of the locations and the time of the incidents.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who was in either area at the time of the offences and thinks they may have seen something, or who recognises the description of the suspects."

Anyone with information should call D Con Egan at Staines CID on 0845 125 2222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
