Dons lottery to play at Wembley!
The Dons Trust, the supporters trust which is the majority owner of AFC Wimbledon, is holding a lottery for a place in the AFC Wimbledon squad that will face Corinthian-Casuals in a football match at Wembley Stadium on April 13, 2008.
This match is a friendly fixture celebrating the 125th anniversary of Corinthian-Casuals two parent clubs.
This is almost certainly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the winner to play at Wembley Stadium in front of several thousand people, alongside a full-strength AFC Wimbledon squad featuring players such as Dons legend Marcus Gayle.
The winner (or person nominated by the winner) will:
Be a member of the AFC Wimbledon squad for the game, which will be managed by AFC Wimbledon first team manager Terry Brown;
Be guaranteed a minimum of 10 minutes' playing time (subject to conduct);
Be given an AFC Wimbledon kit (not including boots or shin pads) to wear and keep;
Join our players in the post-match hospitality area;
Receive two complimentary tickets for friends and relations.
As this is a senior men's game, being played in accordance with FA rules, it will not be possible for women to play in the match. However, the prize is transferable and, if the successful entrant is a woman, she will be able to transfer the right to be part of the squad to a male friend or relation.
AFC Wimbledon Chief Executive Erik Samuelson said: "For any English football supporter, Wembley Stadium has a magical quality.
"Just going there is excitement enough. But to get the opportunity to play football there, in front of thousands of people, would be a dream come true."
Lottery tickets are priced at £5.00 each. For details of how to buy tickets and the rules governing the lottery, see www.playatwembley.co.uk
