Punched and beaten student hits out at uni
A student who said she was punched, kicked and spat on by six of her classmates has criticised Kingston University for not keeping her safe.
The 24-year-old third year student, who did not want to be named, claimed she was assaulted by five male students and one female student at the Penryhn Road campus at 6pm on February 14, after an argument with another female classmate.
She said she was left bleeding and with a chipped tooth, head injuries and facial bruising.
The girl, who was asked to stay away from the university for one day after the incident, said despite reviewing the CCTV evidence with the university on March 5, and being followed and threatened by the group again on March 7, the university refused to take action and she is scared to attend lectures.
| “I feel like I’m the one who has been suspended because I’m scared to go to my lectures and can’t sleep." | |

She said: "It's infuriating - I'm paying my tuition fees and the university is avoiding doing anything at all.
"I feel like I'm the one who has been suspended because I'm scared to go to my lectures and can't sleep.
"There has been nobody there to help or reassure me that this is being investigated."
Kingston police said no arrests had been made, evidence was still being gathered to establish the facts and that the ongoing investigation was a "complicated matter".
Kingston University's head of student affairs, Dr Glyn Jones, said there are comprehensive bullying, harassment and code of conduct policies in place at the university, which was investigating the incident and would "take appropriate action as necessary".

ST Trinians more like. Fact is some uni's just don't want to earn a good reputation!- It's too much hard work. Has the criminal won again?

[bold][italic]IF[/italic] [/bold] this is proven to be true, they all need kicking out, nay, prosecuting. Where's the support network? Why haven't all alegedly involved been suspended? P***-poor performance by the uni thus far. A "comprehensive code of conduct" my a***.

Why am I not surprised to read that the University has failed to act? How many more cases are there of this sort of thing?
