A 15-year-old boy was shot dead yesterday at his home near Clapham North Tube station at 3.40pm.
Billy Cox was pronounced dead by paramedics who found him in his house in Fenwick Place, Clapham North.
His parents have been informed of his killing and a postmortem examination is due to take place today.
According to police Billy had one white and one Thai parent.
Billy had been enrolled at Ernest Bevin College in Tooting but had been taught in Kennington for the past six weeks. He was in training to enter the construction industry.
A spokesman for the college said: "Staff and students at the college are deeply saddened at the tragic loss of this young life. William was a lively and likeable young man who participated fully in school life.
"He was interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry and had recently started studying at another educational facility in order to gain greater knowledge in this field, and was planning to start a college
course next September."
He will meet with colleagues from the Specialist Crime Directory - which includes Operation Trident, which is responsible for investigating gun crime in the black community.
James Andre Smartt-Ford, a 16-year-old, was shot at Streatham Ice Areana on February 3. He was gunned down in front of other skaters during an ice disco.
A second boy, Michael Dosunmu, was shot and killed after gunmen broke into his Peckham home in the early hours of February 6. He had celebrated his 15th birthday just a few days earlier.

i think it's just disgusting, that whoever has done this has not the heart to come forward and accept full responsibility of what they have done. Is this what London has become? I'm ashamed to be a london youth if it has. It's too late for the monsters who've done this to Billy, they've ended one life and in doing so, ruined their own because the truth always emerges, at present those who know what happened, who did it and where to find them are scared. But in ten years, will they still be scared? I don't want to have to wait until these fools all cancel each other out because too many innocent people will get hurt, too many people will be so badly affected. i was on the buss an a saw his pic then i read that he got murderd i thought wat a cruel person to kill a sweet boy like him i no that he was involved with drugs but every one does things that they regret and billys was that he got into drugs and my heart goes out him and his family .my heart goes out tohis talted sister who had to see him die an she couldnt do anytthing about it every time im enjoing myself i think what would elizbeth be doing and i pray that one day she can carry on in life and truly hope that she not blameing herself for what has happened i pray that you will see him in heaven were he belongs .i opray for his family every night so that they can carry on and i pray that they get justice. i may not no much about the family and billy but i do now .
