The language of life online is put centre stage by an award-winning company this month, writes Conor McGlone.
Protein Dance's LOL (Lots of Love) uses six dancers to illustrate the complexity of real relationships, wanting and connectedness in our Facebook society.
Artistic director Luca Silvestrini won an award for best independent company for Protein Dance at the 2011 Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards in January.
He said: “2011 has been an amazing year for Protein and for our latest show, LOL (lots of love).
“We are thrilled to have received so many prestigious awards nominations and we’re delighted to be going back on the road from January.
“We hope the spring dates for LOL will reach those who weren’t able to see the show in 2011; particularly audiences in Watford, Kingston upon Thames, Guildford, Lincoln, Taunton, Wellingborough and Lancaster.”
LOL by PROTEIN DANCE at the Rose Theatre, High Street, Kingston, on February 10 at 7.30pm.Tickets £8 to £12, phone 08444 821 556 or visit rosetheatrekingston.org.
