An Epsom photographer’s inspiring book of boobs is being adapted for the stage.

Laura Dodsworth spent two years photographing and interviewing women aged 19 to 101 about their breasts, bodies and lives for the book Bare Reality.

It was featured on TV and talk shows around the world and raised money for Breast Cancer UK.

Among the women featured were a Buddhist nun, a burlesque dancer, a female vicar and cancer survivors.

Now Bare Reality is being brought to life on stage at Bourne Hall in Ewell in June as part of the MGSO4 Epsom and Ewell Arts Festival.

Matrix Theatre Company’s Sally McCormack is adapting and directing the show which presents women’s experiences about growing up, sexual relationships, breastfeeding, health problems, insecurities, surgery, ageing and more.

Laura Dodsworth said: “I’m excited to be staging the first theatrical performance of Bare Reality at MGS04 Festival in my home town.

“It's completely in keeping with the spirit of Bare Reality that I am collaborating with two brilliant women, Sally McCormack and Susy Puckett.

“I always felt, from the very beginning, that the stories in Bare Reality would work perfectly on stage - they are moving, surprising, funny and, above all, human.

“I'm so pleased we are bringing this vision to life and can't wait to share it.”

Bare Reality premieres at Bourne Hall, Ewell, on Saturday, June 25. Go to mgso4festival.org
