A ‘hilarious, powerful and deeply moving’ one-woman show about spirituality and sexuality is set to thrill audiences in Croydon on its final UK tour.
Writer and performer Tonya Joy Bolton’s Holy and Horny is at Fairfield Halls’ Ashcroft Theatre on October 8. Its nationwide tour last year was a sell-out.
Bolton plays 20 characters, including disarmingly naive Shiela and her sensual alter-ego Eve, and blends art forms such as comedy, poetry, drama and song.
As well as providing laughs, Holy and Horny could also bring tears as Bolton tackles issues of race, gender, culture and sexuality head on.
Women in the audience were encouraged after watching the play to report their own rapes to the police, according to an interview Bolton gave with STUN magazine.
Tickets cost £16.50 or concessions £14.50. Go to www.fairfield.co.uk or call 020 8688 9291.
