Sipping a pint in a pub garden is already the makings of a great summer afternoon – but what if there was entertainment too?

Well, a handful of pubs in south London have got something great lined up. No, it’s not a U2 tribute (great though they are).

Shakespeare in the Garden returns to a handful of Fuller’s boozers courtesy of appropriately-named production company Permanently Bard.

This year’s show is Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet and it is at The Pilot in Greenwich from August 13 to 14, The King and Queen in Caterham on September 2, The Red Lion in Barnes from September 3 to 5 and The Turk’s Head in Twickenham from September 8 to 9.

As you’d expect, there’ll be plenty of drink and food on sale.

Fuller’s retail marketing manager Nick Corden said: “The pub and the theatre have long been

happy bedfellows. The tradition of pub theatre is an example of how two good things can come

together to make something great. We are extremely proud of Fuller’s partnership with Permanently

Bard and we are excited about this year’s production. It is not to be missed.”
