A cabaret-style evening of acoustic music is coming to Wimbledon this week, promising an eclectic mix of styles and an opportunity for talented youngsters.
Wimbledon Unplugged is at Wimbledon Village Hall from 8pm on Friday and is organised by the same team behind the successful Goring Unplugged in Oxfordshire.
Acts for the first ever Wimbledon Unplugged included up-and-coming singer Mike Wyatt, the blues and country pop of John McClean and the Clan and autoharpist Guy Padfield.
Organiser Howard Timberlake said: “This is a chance for the residents of Wimbledon and wider afield to bring some snacks, relax on a Friday night and enjoy a huge variety of talented acts. It promises to be an intimate evening of folk, jazz, blues, rock, pop, choral and even country music, without an amplifier or microphone in sight.”
Entry costs £5 and a second event is scheduled for January 22. Go to facebook.com/wimbledonunplugged
