Metal band Bring Me the Horizon have announced a mega gig in Kingston on the same day as Kingston Carnival.

The six-time Kerrang Award winners will play the The Rose Theatre on Sunday, September 6, in a gig organised by Banquet Records.

One of the most important hardcore bands in Britain for the past decade, they sold out Wembley Arena last December so the gig in Kingston is something of a coup and will likely be rapturously received by their loyal followers.

Banquet’s Jon Tolley said: “With Kingston Carnival during the day, this is one of the best days of live music Kingston’s ever seen.

"Bring Me are the biggest and most influential band in that scene. Their last London show sold out Wembley Arena, so for them to be playing Kingston’s premier venue The Rose, is by their standards a tiny gig.

“From Kerrang magazine to the rock fan over the counter, everyone’s excited for this. If you thought Enter Shikari was awesome, then this could even be a step up.”

With their fifth album That’s the Spirit due to be released on September 11, tickets to the band’s gig have initially gone on sale over the counter at Banquet Records and to those who have already pre-ordered the album from the shop.

They go on general sale at 11am on Wednesday (August 19).
