Club DJ and Capital FM host Jaguar Skills will play at this month’s South West 4 festival – but true to his style, no one will be able to recognise him during his set, writes Daniel Tripp.

A secretive DJ, Mr Skills plays with a balaclava on to hide his identity, comparing himself to Spiderman in the way he protects his identity.

Although he is a SW4 first-timer, he has had experience in entertaining crowds at festivals.

“I love festivals. Totally different to clubs. The crowd always annihilates it,” he says.

During his first Glastonbury set he worried no one would turn up to his tent, only to find within 10 minutes of his arrival the entire area was at full capacity.

Jaguar Skills rose to fame playing as a DJ in 2002, featuring on a weekly slot on BBC’s Radio 1 before moving on to Capital FM.

Having started as a hip hop DJ inspired by “tunes from back in the day” and a love for drum and bass, his signature style is a mix of many musical genres into one festival-themed mash up cramming in as many hits as possible.

The yearly SW4 electronic music festival in Clapham Common has been running for over ten years and will bring an eclectic mix of established and up and coming electronic artists to the stage.

Headlining alongside Jaguar Skills over the weekend this year are Fat Boy Slim, Faithless and Skrillex.
