FOR A drink and dance with unparalleled views, try cradling a cocktail on a dance floor situated 31 floors high.

The latest addition to iconic Centre Point, Zinc – which boasts 360 degree views - justifiably claims to offer the best vista of any European nightclub.

News Shopper: The view from Zinc bar

The elegant bar is fringed with plush sofas all angled towards the breathtaking panorama over London’s central West End.

The height makes typically domineering icons like the Shard, the London Eye, and Tower Bridge appear diminished and twinkly, clustering around the curve of the river peaceably, like old friends.

The atmosphere is relaxing, and calls for an appreciative drink before the night heats up, so we sipped indulgent cocktails served in metallic tankards by attentive staff.

I started the evening with a light Zinc Julep – a fragrant take on gin and tonic with lavender bitters, and thyme-infused dry vermouth to top up the Bombay Sapphire gin.

But the manager’s special, Beekeeper, blew me away with a delectable combination of butter-infused Bacardi, shaken with lime and honey. The normally giddy-making price of £13 was well worth it for the view.

The club is a stone’s throw from Tottenham Court Road station, and, whilst it was fairly empty when we visited, it can fit 300 revellers and is a secret that demands to be shared.

Doors open at 9.30pm with guest list and table bookings available for the venue where you can dance until dawn.
