One of world cricket’s most famous ever players will host an exclusive charity night in Mitcham.
Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi’s annual invite-only event in aid of his self-titled charity will be held at restaurant Chak89 in August with guests including the England and Pakistan teams, West Indies world cup winning captain Darren Sammy and former Sri Lanka test star Kumar Sangakarra.
As well as a three-course meal, the night will include VIP guest speakers, a memorabilia auction and a raffle.
Afridi’s Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) was founded in March 2014 and aims to improve the lives of children, teenagers and adults in Pakistan by building hospitals, schools and more.
The cricketer said: “I would like to thank (Chak89 owner) Frank Khalid for all the generous contributions he has made to SAF.
“He is a man who likes to help, and see charities succeed to make a better world wherever possible. “He is truly a great friend, person and a true gentleman. I thank him very much for his input in this event this year.”
Chak89 is one of south London’s biggest celebrity hotspots, with previous guests including Aaron Paul, Linday Lohan, Emily Sande and Charlie Sheen.
