Will the UK’s king or queen of chicken wings hail from south west London? Bars in Clapham and Battersea are taking part in the country’s largest chicken wing eating competition.
Wing It 2016 is taking part simultaneously at 17 pubs on July 28 – including Stane Street Syndicate in Clapham High Street and Hawkins Forge in Battersea Rise – as challengers try to consume twenty hot chicken wings in the fastest time.
The winners at each pub will receive a year’s worth of wings each and a trophy while the overall champion wins a year’s worth of beer from Greenwich brewer Meantime.
For spectators, a variety of different flavoured wings will be half price.
Anyone wanting to take part will need to contact their favoured venue. Go to thestanestreetsyndicate.co.uk or hawkinsforge.co.uk.
