Fragile City Photography Exhibition

The White Lion is exhibiting the work of 20 professional, amateur and student photographers.

The photographers were given a brief under the heading ‘Fragile City’ and they drew inspiration from their everyday experience with urban environment.

Laura Berman, the organiser, said: “The photographers were invited to submit one image in response to the title ‘Fragile City.’

“The exhibits include a selection of images including films, digital photographs, photographic collage, graphic design and photos taken on iPhones.”

The exhibits were based on personal interpretation, be it the content or the manner in which it was portrayed. “In May 2007, for the first time in history, the world’s urban population was larger than its rural population. Cities have been at the forefront of progress and represent growth, power and strength. The urban cities are living and breathing and changing all the time.

“Our cities can be delicate and fragile. How can we show the fragility of the cities we live in?,” said Laura. The exhibition was commissioned as an open call for submissions. The 20 exhibiting photographers have submitted photographs taken from all around the world.
